Physical safety in public schools. It is a conversation none of us wish we had to have, but one in which we must engage. 

SSP has the honor of working with many schools in the area. Our employees have children and grandchildren in the local schools. Like you, we are heartbroken. 

School Safety

in the educational environment continues to be an issue we struggle with within our society. Most of us are aware of the many serious and tragic events that have unfolded around our country, with 27 shooting events in the 2022 school year alone.

School Safety. It’s difficult. It’s heart-wrenching.  

Most importantly, it demands our action on many fronts, from advocating for better access to mental health and funding for improved physical security measures on campuses. 

It is a multi-faceted issue that needs the application of many solutions applied specifically, and individually to each campus. The burden of our child’s safety can not rest on law enforcement alone, technologies, community, or mental health professionals. The burden is so great that we must rise and bear it together on all fronts. 

We do not presume to have all the answers, but one thing we do know, is we have the power to change the tide of violence if we work together.
